My shower door was sagging since it was installed 6 years ago. My technician and his assistant were in and out. Door is adjusted now. The young men who collected the broken table top and the two young men (Michael and Adam) who delivered its replacement were stellar workers. They were more than polite, they were friendly. They were efficient and worked to resolve a problem that had previously been there. I think that Mr. Sassman is very lucky to have these young men as employees.

Joe and Adam came to install our new shower door. They were very professional. The paperwork they had said we wanted black finishes when in fact we wanted brushed nickel. They said no problem because they had some on the truck. They were very efficient and friendly.

Just a strange set of events with Sassman. I successfully contacted them about a shower repair/replacement and after a few calls they finally came to assess my shower. They said they would get me a quote, then, complete silence. It’s been weeks. Either they are very unorganized or ignoring available work.

I needed 2 very large, old mirrors removed from 2 bathrooms before I could proceed with my remodel. Joe and Shaq arrived on time and had the mirrors removed in a matter of minutes, and without shattering the glass-what a relief! Very professional and courteous!
Scott and Adam were in the shop when I stopped by with a broken piece of glass from my refrigerator. Keep in mind this is two days before the Christmas holiday and we were entertaining family that weekend. These two dropped what they were doing and cut new glass and I was out the door in 20 minutes. My local hardwear store quoted 10 days to have a peice cut. Who says you can't find good help these days? Sassman has them!

We had issues with the shower door that was put in when the house was built last summer. Sassman came out twice and tried to make adjustments, but the door just wasn't operating the way it should. It seemed like the door itself was the issue, nothing to do with the way it had been installed. We asked if we could replace it and pay the difference for a new door. Kyle called and said he'd like to take care of it (at no additional cost), he just wanted us to be happy. He invited us into the showroom to select a new door and within a short couple weeks the swap was made. Joe and Colton arrive on time today and finished the removal of the old door and installation of the new door in less than the estimated time. It looks great. Our experience with everyone at Sassman - from the phone call with Kyle, to the interaction with the ladies in the showroom, to the installers who were in our home - was exceptional. They were all friendly and professional - we're extremely happy with the outcome!
I needed an estimate on a patio door glass replacement for a unit I was selling. They were there the next day. Great service!
They were on time and efficient. They replaced the hinges on our glass shower door. The old hinges were pulling away from the wall and allowing the glass door to scrape the tile. They also replaced the plastic sweeper along the bottom of the door. They were finished in under 30 minutes.

We needed a large wall mirror installed in our home. I contacted Sassman with the request and they called the very next day to schedule the install. I had bought a rattan piece a year ago that was missing a glass shelf. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago and I finally decided to do something about it. I reached out to Sassman's and inquired about getting a piece of glass cut. They responded immediately and let me know they could take on the project. I had the glass in my hands just a few days after inquiring about the project.
After picking up the glass, I quickly realized why the shelf was missing to begin with. The shelf could not be put into the piece due to the curvature of the rattan and the angle at which the glass shelf would need to be installed. The only solution was to cut my new glass shelf in half and to install it as two smaller pieces. I reached back out to Sassman's and explained the situation and asked if that was something they could do even though the error was mine. They not only let me know that they could, they did it free of charge!! My husband took it in to drop it off, expecting a few days turnaround (which would have been completely fine), but they instead did it on the spot. They were great to work with. I highly recommend them and will use them again if I have another glass project!
Sassman glass was very professional from when they answered the phone to when they came and measured our shower door frame. They ordered the door and installed it within 2 weeks. The two installers (Adam & Trey) called ahead to schedule the installation day & time and they showed up promptly. I would recommend this company for any glass related projects.
We started with Jacque to get various quotes. She was so responsive to all my emails, texts and questions. Once we decided on two large mirrors, Adam took over and was in contact with us. Once again Sassman has hit it out of the park. I had a shower door installed and it looks great and operates perfectly. The women in the office helped me order a great product. I had a mirror in my bathroom that needed to be replaced. The intake person did an excellent job of questioning just what I needed and passed along the information to an installer. Adam- installer/tech reached out the very next day and was very accommodating to what worked with my schedule to go over my project. He came out, assessed what was needed, confirmed measurements and had a replacement mirror ready to be installed quickly. Upon installation, Adam discovered the mirror had been cut short by 2 inches. He apologized and had a new mirror cut and ready for install in 2 hours! Wow...that was pretty impressive. I appreciated Adam's eye to detail in suggesting cutting the mirror slightly larger at the top to fit astatically on the wall where the wall was not plumb. It looks GREAT! Sassman Glass employees Jared and Dakota replaced windows at Regus in Johnston last week (10/14 & 10/15).
These two gentlemen were professional, thoughtful, considerate of clients and our very busy center, and were patient enough to work around a few therapists who needed quiet and privacy at times. Replacement for each window downstairs took only 5-10 minutes -- SUPER quick -- and the upstairs windows were replaced just as quickly, though their replacement required a lift to be rented.
When doing their initial walkthrough, the boss of Sassman Glass Chris was able to assure one of our older gentlemen who could not move his built-in desk that it would be taken care of for him. Chris took point in that conversation and really reassured the client that his items would remain secure and his desk, handled with care. Thank you for this in particular!
Once the job began, Dakota and Jared handled the installation process on their own. Jared took point with the clients when needed and was well-spoken and helpful. Dakota took point on more of the physical work. They even took a moment to show me the process for removing the glass.
Sassman Glass was unable to replace windows overlapped by a built-in wall, but were willing to work with our property managers regarding their replacement.

I can only say GREAT things about this Sassman. I had my bathroom remodeled by another contract who was HORRIBLE!!! I called Sassman Glass to have this nightmare over after 4month long remodel. Sassman pulled out the Glass Shower doors and frame that was install wrong by the original intaller for the remodel. Jake called and came right out the next day (Tuesday) bringing Adam the one that would be installing on Thursday of the same week!. Adam the shower door tore out and new one replaced in 2 hours! Adam was a professional, polite, cleaned up everything! Adam also explanned what he did. I will be using Sassman if I ever need any glass repair/replaced! THANK YOU JAKE AND ADAM!!!

It’s not hard to find a glass company in the Des Moines metro. They’re everywhere. I knew nothing about glass shower doors so I chose the company with a lot of positive reviews, which is Sassman. I chose Sassman because of all of the positive reviews. I now understand why people love this company. Sassman is absolutely fantastic to work with. Going into their store to get a quote was simple and quick. We were provided multiple options and everything was explained perfectly. The install guys are quick and very professional. Our mirror in our master bath came unglued, fell and did not break. It was holding on by a thread on top of our bathroom counter. I called Sassman and they sent a couple of guys out right away. They remounted it with new adhesive in just under an hour of when the mirror fell! I can’t thank you all enough for saving the day!!

We requested quotes from a couple of different glass companies for a glass panel in a remodeled shower. The person in the office was quick to respond with a rough estimate for the panel and installation. Their price was noticeably lower than the others received. The tech was out in a timely manner for final measurements, and the original bid amount was confirmed. I called after a couple of weeks and confirmed that the glass was in. An appointment was made and a quality install was completed within 2 days. Very satisfied with all aspects. Only other comment would be that it’s not clear how long the glass was in before I called, and how long before they would have contacted me to schedule the installation. Another comment, we also ordered a pane of cabinet glass for a a/v cabinet. It turned out that it was a fraction off. I stopped in to the office and they adjusted it while I waited and all is great. A very satisfied customer.

The quality of the product surpasses my expectations with the precision of the cuts, angles and the over all finished product. The installers John and Danny did an amazing job installing the surround and the job was spotless when finished. Their customer service is second to none from the initial consultation with me to the very end. On time with the first visit and days early on the install. I will be using them for all my projects in the future.

The team at Sassman is top notch. I am finishing my basement and needed a door for my tile shower and glass for cabinet doors. I called everyplace in metro area looking to keep cost down. Everyone I talked to in the trades said all the contractors use Sassman. When I called around only Sassman got back to me right away and took measurements in two days from calling. After waiting 3 weeks to get bids from competition, Sassman was quite a bit cheaper for the same shower door and cabinet glass. Install took about an hour and looks great. Also everyone I talked to on phone or in person was very knowledgeable. Cannot recommend enough
I used Sassman to replace a piece of glass in a nightstand. They were quick and courteous, and I loved the texting-based interface I worked with them through. They were very courteous and respected my contact-free sale requirements. Unfortunately, I gave them the wrong dimensions for the piece I needed, but they gave me a "oops" discount and I have the right dimension glass now.
Sassman Glass installed the glass on our custom shower. The door recently needed some adjustments. The 2 gentlemen who came to adjust the door were here the day after my request for service. They were very professional and solved the problem immediately.

I called 2-other Glass/window repair looking for a replacement living room window I broke cutting the grass. Sassman Glass had the best price as well as best timeframe. While the installers were putting in the new window I mentioned that my mothers old hutch glass shelves had cracked & broke. Great experience at Sassman Glass. I recently moved from KS to IA and unfortunately broke a really special mirror. Called a couple of places and got recommended this company. No regrets! They couldn’t replace the mirror because it was glued to the frame but they presented a solution that I liked. When I picked up the mirror this week it was looking awesome. I couldn’t even notice were it was broken! Great example that there is always a solution for any issue. They didn’t say no and presented options they were able to work with! Great front and back staff! Ended the interaction with a great lady Miranda who explained everything concerning the repair pretty well. 5 star business!

From start to finish, I found Sassman Glass and Mirror to be top-notch. I walked in to get a quote for an oddly dimensioned shower enclosure, and received immediate attention from Sarah. Quote was more than competitive with others in Central Iowa, and they seemed genuinely interested in earning my business. My installation was delayed a week due to a snow storm, but everyone at Sassman was quick to communicate the issue and reschedule. Communication, competence, and excellent end product and installation...not more you could ask for from a company.
From the time I emailed the company with my question asking for a quote to the final install, it was a pleasure dealing with everyone at Sassman Glass. I received quick responses from Sandy via my email (my preference for this type of communication) and great measuring/install sessions by Dave. It took a little longer than expected to get the initial measurement done because the crew was working on a very large job but I received several calls from Dave with apologies and updates. My non-standard curved windows fit perfectly and look great. I'm a perfectionist and Dave's install/calking/clean-up was meticulous. He was very professional and friendly, also. I'll use Sassman again if I need glass/mirrors.

My only complaint would be the text option on the website. They said they would get back to me and never did so I just called in. Would definitely use them again but will just call next time.
My name is John and I own Precision Contractors of Iowa. I did a remodel for a couple which the wife was having some serious medical issues. They decided on everything the wanted in the bathroom form a custom shower to the floors and vanity and even customizing the closet to make her comfortable. I had a guy bail out last minute to put up the shower doors. I called tanner on Thursday and he listened to the story and literally the following Monday he was on the job and completed it. I have 4 new construction house going up and multiple retro’s going on at the time being. I will not use any other company but these guys. Your price could be half of theirs and I still won’t do it. Their respect for the customer and and quality will make me continue using them for every project I have. Job well done guys!!!
I am so thrilled with my new glass shower wall from Sassman Glass and Mirror.! It was installed yesterday and although it appeared to me to be an overwhelming project, the installers, Joe and Jake, handled this HUGE piece of glass with ease! They had the job done in no time and the bathroom was spotless when they left. They also replaced a window that had a broke seal, in my family room, while they were here, and again, with little to no effort. Both Joe and Jake were very personable and clearly knowledgeable and skilled with regard to their trade. They took the time to explain to me how to properly care for shower wall and also what to advise my contractor who will be replacing the trim on the new window! Thank you again! Sassman Glass replaced glass in some of my windows and did a great job. They matched the white grids to match my existing windows so you can't tell they were even replaced. Highly recommend if you need glass replaced in your existing windows instead of replacing whole window!

I had two bathrooms that needs the mirrors embedded within the glass tile back-splash; this required two different trips. For each trip the experience was the same; I described what I wanted, they asked questions and returned at a later date to perform the installation.
They arrived on the scheduled date and time, with a phone call prior to arrival to make sure that I was at home. Each installation took less than an hour. When completed the work area was clean and ready for use.
I am very happy with the service and the final product. Every I dealt with was very professional and a pleasure to work with. I particularly like the part when they were asking questions. This was important to me because what I asked for is a little "out of the box"; asking the questions goes a long way in meeting expectations.

I have been asked via email to respond to a questionnaire regarding Sassman glass. They are a familiar name in the central Iowa area and I have used them several times through the years. After having lived in Johnston, Iowa for 46 years we moved to Ankeny in 2013. We decided that we needed a mirror for our front hall, and that it would need to be a quality mirror with beveled edges. We needed help with the design and of course the production as well as the insulation. We didn’t call anyone but Sassman glass. After describing what we wanted they put together a drawing and we were highly satisfied as we would expect to be with their final product. The mirror will hang right where it is through our retirement and to the next owner of our home.
Last summer, it was learned that the person or company that installed the mirrors in many of our new homes in our home association in Ankeny Iowa had unfortunately purchased a bad batch of glue. The company on its own volition contacted all of the owners of the homes involved that they were aware of and replaced the mirrors and the glue at their own expense. This past week I decided to surprise my wife with a glass top for her make up stand and I again chose Sassman glass. We worked together to make the most economical but satisfactory glass cover. During the visit I mentioned the company that had replaced the mirrors in our community and they said “that was us”, and then immediately looked at the records and said your mirrors should have been checked also which they followed up on within a few days.
Should you ever be in need of quality mirrors or glass services in central Iowa there is no need to contact anyone else but Sassman glass.

I actually used to work for Sassman glass, and I'll tell you right now this man runs a tight ship. No ifs and or buts, his customers come first always. He takes care of his employees as if they were his own family. That's the kind of guy we all dream about working for, or with. Loves his Chevy vehicles, always maintains his Fleet always looking out for the bottom dollar for the customer and making them happy. They deal with anything from small window repairs to obscure items necessary to complete the job and heavy glass shower door assemblies and shower enclosures. Doug Sassman himself will even build you one off custom display boxes to fit your needs and to encase your accomplishments in their all-time Glory.
I had a shower door coming off and leaking. I called Sassman Glass to make an appointment and they were quick and courteos. Joe resealed the door and shower in less than a hour. No leaks, fantastic job!
We recently ordered a shower door from Sassman's, it came in scratched, and they had to reorder.
It has been 3 1/2 weeks since the first order and still no door. My husband called to check on the status of the door and asked for a $50 discount since we have waited so long, he was given to the owner who promptly without provocation just cancelled our order. He was upset because my husband asked for a discount and went off the deep end and even after my husband apologized for asking he still cancelled our order. We went to Ankeny Glass and they said #1 they would without a doubt after waiting so long would have given the discount, #2 would have installed the scratched door and when the new came in would have come back and re-installed. Don't use Sassman, he doesn't need your business and will cancel you if he doesn't like what you say. No Customer service here...

The workmen called to tell me when they would be there, and then they showed up at the time they told me. They were there to diagnose problem, and measure window that needed replaced.. They promised they would call within 7-10 days after replacement glass had arrived. They did as they had promised. They arrived to replace the window when they had promised. They worked quickly, and cleaned up after themselves. Very efficient with my time and theirs. I recommend them for all glass and mirror work.
Cutting an old mirror from 1950 for a custom bathroom was no problem for them. I had them cut one edge off and drill holes for two light sconces. The price was right and they did everything in a timely manner.

I needed a 24”x24” piece of double strength float glass today and they were nice enough to cut it a half hour before they closed. But then they handed me a bill for $42! And this glass typically retails at only $3-4 per square foot. Would’ve been nice if the girl on the phone who took the order could’ve been bothered to mention they have a $40 minimum so I could’ve ordered more instead of walking out feeling completely screwed.
Update: The owner called me after I posted this 3-star review and thanked me for doing so because it brought this $40 minimum policy to his attention, which was discussed during a staff meeting and subsequently eliminated. He is also sending me a check for the difference of what it should have been without the minimum. I can't remember the last time I encountered such genuine caring and superior customer service skills from a business owner so of course I'm changing my rating to 5 stars. Thanks for making my day, Mr. Sassman! You rock.
I have used Sassman Glass for many years to repair the glass for my windows. John and Danny are very good installers. They are very customer friendly and know how to install the windows very quickly. I highly recommend Sassman Glass.
We were looking for a glass cover for our dining room table and Sassman was by far the cheapest quote. They were also very responsive and even came to measure our table beforehand to make sure it was a perfect fit.
